Confession to my Redeemer

Out of the depths of my ignorance and folly, O Lord
I turn my face and lift up my heart to you

Turn not from me in anger
But be merciful and bless me
Showing me the light of your face

I confess my sinfulness, perversity and self-will
My lack of faith and love

Pity my weakness and remember I am but dust
                  Forgive my pride and self-sufficiency
And my foolish efforts to live by my own power and wisdom

Forgive my great concern for things material and temporal
And my lack of concern for things spiritual and eternal
And set my heart and thoughts on things above

Enable me by your heavenly grace in all the circumstances of life to say
Not my will be done, but your will be done

In you O Lord, I put all my hope and trust, you are my Father, my Redeemer, from everlasting is your name.
